ABOUT GUITARSEARCH.ORG

Fast answers without pretending every guitar is the same.

Learn enough here to know what to search for next.
We teach the search.

GuitarSearch.org is an independent quick-reference resource built around a simple question: What guitar are we looking at?

The goal is to help players, buyers, sellers and curious guitar people identify an instrument, understand where it fits, check current market evidence and know what deserves a closer look.

IDENTIFY → VALUE → COMPARE → KNOW
Start with the guitar in front of you. Let the evidence narrow the answer.

EVERY COMPLETED BRAND FILE IS BUILT TO HELP YOU

01 Identify the exact guitar 02 Find the family & model 03 Check new & used value 04 Search the market now 05 Inspect condition & originality 06 Understand the history & context

BRAND FILES

Price the guitar—not just the logo

Brand Files begin with the manufacturer, but they are designed to move quickly toward the individual instrument. A familiar body shape, country of manufacture or famous name may be an important clue without being enough to establish identity or value by itself.

Depending on the brand, a file may emphasize model families, current series, serial-number resources, manufacturing history, electronics, repair concerns, originality or other clues that matter most for that particular guitar.

The pages share a purpose—not a rigid script. Fender, Gibson, Yamaha, a direct-to-consumer brand and a discontinued TV-shopping guitar do not require exactly the same identification process.

GUITAR GUIDES

Some questions are bigger than one brand

Guitar Guides handle the broader questions that appear while researching, buying, comparing, inspecting and learning about guitars.

That can mean comparing play-before-you-buy with online buying, choosing a first guitar, understanding changes in the used-guitar market, or looking at the factories and market forces behind the names on the headstock.

The Guide library grows when a subject deserves its own page. The goal is useful explanation—not a publishing schedule.

MARKET & VALUATION

Asking price is evidence—not a verdict

Current retail, used listings and completed sales can help establish a price neighborhood, but they do not replace identification and inspection.

Exact model, condition, repair history, originality, included accessories, current availability and local demand can all change the answer. Brand Files therefore use market information as a tool rather than presenting one permanent number as the value of every guitar carrying the same name.

EDITORIAL APPROACH

Document what can be documented. Label the judgment.

Completed pages separate documented facts, observed current market information and editorial interpretation as clearly as practical.

Prices change. Product lines change. Serial-number systems have exceptions. Old guitars get repaired and modified. A page can help narrow the question, but the individual instrument still has to agree with the story being told about it.

Research online. Evaluate the guitar honestly. The directory can help tell you what you may be looking at. Your hands, eyes and ears still have information the page does not.
